Threats to users that stem from their Location Data tend to emerge suddenly. A user may post their location data happily for years, and then only after they start to be stalked, find that the digital detritus of their location data has swiftly become a liability.
Platforms can help users that experience this unfortunate change of circumstance with tooling to quickly remove (or change the visibility of) all of their location data across all of their content. A feature of this sort could be of particular use because often location features of a user's content aren't clearly legible to the user themselves: most people probably don't know that most photos encode timestamps and location data. Additionally, building a feature like this is in a platform's interest: without this tool, a user trapped between retaining their profile and protecting their physical safety is very likely to choose to delete their profile entirely.
This type of feature would be fairly easy for most platforms to build, but would routinely prove critical to the safety of a small but vulnerable set of their users.
